Esthetician vs. Cosmetologist
Both work with skin. Here’s what actually separates the two licenses.
An esthetician’s license is scoped to skin, facials, skin analysis, and hair removal. A cosmetologist’s license covers hair, skin, and nails under one broader credential, esthetics included. If skin work is genuinely all you want to do, esthetics is the faster, more focused path. If you want the flexibility to also do hair and nails, cosmetology covers all three.
